Dubai has many public holidays per year. Below is a breakdown of these
days for 2008/2009/2010. Some of the include Islamic holidays as well
as the usual 'western' holidays. Eid Ul Fitr is based on the lunar calendar
and therefore all dates given below are approximations.

1st January - New Year's Day
26th February - Mouloud (Milad) Birthday of the Holy
Prophet PBUH)
9th July - Leilat al-Meeraj (Ascension of the Prophet
saw)
11th September - Eid ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan)
17th November - Eid ul-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice
- also known as Big Eid)
2nd December - National Day
7th December - Al-Hijra (Islamic New Year)
16th December - Ashoura.
